What conditions is it best used for?
Diagnostic ultrasound is used to assess soft tissues conditions around peripheral joints (shoulder, elbow, wrist & hand, hip, knee, ankle & foot) and is NOT suitable for spinal pain.

Advanced Practice Physiotherapist

Graeme Stevenson is a highly experienced Advanced Practice Physiotherapist, Sport and Exercise Scientist, MSK Sonographer and Independent Prescriber with over 20 years’ experience specialising in musculoskeletal healthcare.

He has extensive experience having worked in a wide range of environments from elite sport, MOD, NHS and private practice. Graeme has had the honour working with the medical teams for the UK Special Forces, Elite Football – Newcastle United Football Club, Elite Gymnastics – Newcastle City, as well at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Graeme currently works as an 8a Advanced Practice Physiotherapist and MSK Sonographer at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust. Here he is the Allied Health Professional Non-Medical Prescribing Lead and Lead Injection Therapist for the trust. Graeme offers a comprehensive physiotherapy service, integrating point of care ultrasound services (POCUS). Graeme performs regular diagnostic ultrasound / ultrasound guided injections clinics with referrals from Orthopaedic and Rheumatology Consultants, G.P.’s, Nurses, Podiatry and Physiotherapy.

The combination of Graeme’s clinical experience and advanced practice qualifications enable him to provide ‘one stop clinics’ in which a clinical assessment, diagnostic ultrasound scan and ultrasound guided injection can all be performed in a single appointment.

Graeme enjoys teaching injection therapydiagnostic ultrasound and ultrasound guided injections to fellow physiotherapists, sonographers and doctors as well as a visiting lecturer at Leeds Beckett University. He has an unrelenting commitment to clinical excellence and provides and strives to provide an exceptional quality service for all clients.
